Being a bit out of our comfort zone these days seems to be pretty commonplace but in some ways I feel like we’re slipping right into a spot that’s pretty comfortable. So today’s Friday roundup is filled with some of my favorite sources of cozy + comfort in hopes that you’ll also find a little respite in the day as well.
Comfort food was where my head went instantly, because sometimes it’s just the familiar smells and tastes of home that take us instantly to a special place. It’s funny how that works sometimes. Our Southern Kitchen Bucket List is filled with comfort foods, from Fried Okra to Macaroni + Cheese to Fried Chicken to Biscuits + Gravy.
Take a peek and take the challenge of tackling a few of these recipes while you’re homecoming for your family over the next week or two and give us a tag #southernkitchenbucketlist on Instagram.
The bedroom is quite possibly the single most comfortable zone in your home. It’s a retreat we can go to after a long hard day to relax and find some respite so making your bedroom a cozy space that you love is essential. I’ve had so much fun designing our line of Quilts for the bedroom so a lot of my time has been focused on digging deep into the bedding category to see what we can create next.
I’m sharing another part of our Home Tour series today with our Master Bedroom Tour, where I’m giving you a little sneak peek into one of my favorite rooms in our house. And, I’ve also got a post packed with tips and design suggestions for Creating the Perfect Farmhouse Bedroom in your Own Home, along with a bunch of product roundup recommendations for you to help with freshening up your own space. Here’s a sneak peek but click for the full roundup.
I’m one of those people that truly feels your space and surroundings can transform your every mood. Adding in vintage decor items to your bedroom space, and really to your home in general, can take a stark and sterile space and transform it into a place of comfort. It’s amazing how a chippy little detail, an aged linen book or a piece with some patina can really soften your home and turn it into a storied place full of layer and interest. I even started a new Pinterest Board all about Vintage Home Design to give you some ideas on how you can mix vintage pieces into your own home creatively and beautifully.
A few of my favorite folks who consistently mix in vintage piece into their interior design work are John Derian, Eddie Ross, and Rachel Ashwell. All mix them in very differently and have their own personal style of design – but each do it flawlessly. Any others you especially love?
Sometimes we find the greatest comfort in surrounding ourselves with pieces Here are some of my favorite pieces from the Vintage Goods shop right now that will add lots of depth and dimension to your space.
Comfort zone style is what we are ALL about these days, so I thought I’d include a little roundup of some of my favorite pajamas + loungewear, for the whole family. What’s better than waking up in a cozy little number or your favorite PJs, especially on the weekend.
