I love the holidays for many reasons, one of them being the decor options for both your home and table. Here are some tips on setting a personalized Christmas table this year.
Setting a Personalized Christmas Table
I love hosting and entertaining friends and family at my home, especially during the holidays. It brings me a lot of joy to plan out the appetizers and meals I will serve to my guests, and I get super excited about the table decor elements I will mix in for the occasion. I wanted to share my tips on setting a personalized Christmas table, including ways I have invited my guests into my home over the years.
Recipe Cards
Place a recipe card at eat table setting during the holidays and invite guests to share their favorite holiday recipe. An alternative — write your favorite holiday recipe on the cards and place at eat table setting for your guests to take when they leave!
Seasonal Ingredients
If you have been following along for some time, then you may have read our blog on using seasonal ingredients in your holiday decor. I absolutely love this trick when setting a personalized holiday table. Incorporating pomegranates, walnuts, artichokes, cranberries, and dehydrated oranges add such a fresh and vibrant aspect to the table.
Family Photos
Setting old family photos at place settings during the holidays is one of my favorites. I know it is rather obscure, but I have found it facilitates conversations and leads the way to sharing stories between generations. I love hearing family history and stories when I gather with my family, and just think this is such a sweet way to do so.
Place Cards
A classic way to personalize a place setting, but a tried and true one at that. I love adding hand-written place cards to each table setting during holiday hosting. I love watching my guests hunt around the table for where they will be sitting for the meal.
Vintage Ornaments
I find adding a vintage ornament to each table setting adds such a charming and fun pop to the table. As always, I love facilitating conversation around the table. I love asking each kid what ornament they got, or which ones are their favorite and why.
I would love to add to my list of ways set a personalized Christmas table. If you have ways you personalize your table, please feel free to share them with me on Instagram!
