Farmhouse Bathroom Ideas

Sharing a new story in our Home Tour series and a few of my favorite farmhouse bathroom ideas. Learn more about our farmhouse bathroom tile choices, the farmhouse sink for bathroom we chose to install, and of course you’ll get a glimpse of all of the farmhouse bathroom decor in each of our bathrooms.

Farmhouse Bathroom Ideas

As you know by now after all of our home tour stories, we put so much thought and effort in all of the details when we bought our home. When it came to the bathrooms, our choices were super important because I wanted a timeless, classic look that we would not get tired of.

Farmhouse Sink for Bathroom

We worked with our friends over at Vintage Tub and Bath to find the most perfect farmhouse sinks for each bathroom. I just love the look of these super deep sinks. They really are so classic and timeless and really make a statement in each bathroom. You can find the round up  of my favorites right here.

This classic white sink really keeps this bathroom looking fresh and classic. Another one of my  farmhouse bathroom ideas is to mix in different colored towels to add accents to the room. I just love the texture of our new waffle weave collection, especially the hand towels, draped over a large basin sink like this one.

Kids Bathroom Ideas

My two boys share a jack-and-jill bathroom, so for this one we needed to maximize the space + storage so they could each grow into the space as they get older. We flanked the wall mount cast iron trough sink with two large floor-to-ceiling cabinets and selected this sink with two faucets so they could each have a place of their own in the shared space. I also drew inspiration from the old school bathroom spaces with a simple horizontal custom cut mirror and tiled the entire rest of the wall with two flat hood light fixtures to frame them.

Choosing Tile for a Farmhouse Bathroom

For the boys’ bathroom we chose this sweet grey blue and white pattern. The timeless look of this tile will just grow with our home as it ages, giving a nod to vintage small tiled floors of days past. Keeping the floor light and neutral here also keeps the bathroom feeling pretty bright + spacious for the boys.

Altneratively, in our master bathroom we chose to go with a more unisex, large rectangular tile with a concrete + wood like look to bring in a natural element.  For the oversized shower we went with smaller black hexagon tile with contrasting white walls in a longer length subway tile with dark grout for a bit more modern farmhouse vibe and I love the juxtaposition of these two finishes.

We loved the look of this so much, so we decided to recreate a similar clean look  in our newest addition, the guest bathroom in our basement. This time however, we went with a larger hex tile with a matte leathered finish for the main floor and went all white in the shower, opting for small + medium sized tiles on the floor + shower walls, including a fully tiled ceiling for the same steam shower-like vibe as our master.

Farmhouse Bathroom Decor

Now, for the most fun part of it all -the styling and decorating. While I love picking out the farmhouse bathroom tile and and sinks, curating special decor for each bathroom was my favorite part. Actually, there were quite a few times when I went out shopping for our vintage goods shop, and ended up keeping the pieces for my own bathroom. I mean can you blame me?

One of my favorite farmhouse bathroom ideas, is to fill each room with one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. I found this amazing old hand painted  mirror to go over our farmhouse sink for the bathroom, and I really built the entire room around it. I also found this sweet vintage farm basket that is perfect for holding toilet paper or rolled towels.

In the guest bathroom I went with a deeper custom vanity sink that allowed for more storage with chunky legs and shaker knobs. The vanity allows us to display some smaller decor items like a pretty milk glass soap dish and a stack of our waffle weave towels for our guests.

A Touch Of Personalization

Another one of my farmhouse bathroom decor ideas is to find little ways to personalize. Adding a family monogram to hand towels is such a clean and classic way to do this. I love the way the white pop on this textured waffle weave towel.

Also, finding old family photos or vintage artwork to fit the aesthetic of each room is such a unique way to bring character to the space.

I hope you love some of these Farmhouse Bathroom ideas. I had such a fun time putting this together. From picking out farmhouse bathroom tile, to choosing each farmhouse sink for our bathrooms, it is a long process, but so worth all the details it in the end.
