I’m not one to closely follow the here today, gone tomorrow fashion trends – because as you know I’m a Capsule Wardrobe style lover always. When a handmade patchwork quilt becomes a hallmark icon for Fall, you better believe I’m here for it.
A self proclaimed vintage quilt lover, I’ve been knee deep researching all kinds of quilt blocks + patterns lately. I noticed this trend popping up over the summer in anticipation of cooler weather ahead. I was long a fan of the Free People Dolman Quilted Jacket two seasons ago, and finally broke down and bought myself one in olive last year. Happy to see these are back again for 2021 Fall Style. Quilted jackets have been around for quite some time (thanks Barbour). Quilted clothing is having a major fashion moment in everything style right now, from bags to tops to dresses.
It was really the DIY’ers creating amazing quilt jackets that started it all. But, when I spotted this absolutely amazing patchwork dress on Riley of Gunner & Lux, I instantly DM’d them to find out where I could get my hands on one. It was sold out from Doen, much to my dismay.
