My custom framed art with Framebridge
As you all know, my sweet dog Kona is always behind the scenes sneaking bites and entertaining us at every photoshoot. Kona is our 12 year old Vizsla. Right before Shane proposed to me, she came trotting around the corner as the sweetest, tiniest puppy – how could I say no! Kona has been there through all of our life changes and brings so much joy + energy to our family.
For my birthday this past year my mom gifted us one of the most thoughtful gifts I could ever have imagined. She hand illustrated this beautiful pencil sketch portrait of our sweet Kona. I knew instantly that I wanted this treasured piece of art to be framed and hung in our home forever. Insert our friends at Framebridge.
This is a true heirloom that I want to keep around forever, and Framebridge is helping me do just that. Not only was the process SO easy, the company itself is so great to work with with, too. They also had so many little heirloom-worthy touches that made this custom framed art all the more special than just a traditional frame, which really set them apart from other options out there. Not to mention they are a fraction of the price of a traditional frame shop and I can do the whole process from the comfort of my own home which is key these days.
From a design standpoint I chose this gorgeous “Wren” frame, which is a matte black frame with an aged patina – perfect for the vintage aesthetic of our home. But there were so many options to choose from, I love all of the frame options they have for colors and materials.
Meaningful Personalization Options with Framebridge
One of my favorite touches is that you can include a brass personalization plate on your frame. This just adds a sweet little touch to the frame, gives you room to add text that really makes it a unique piece that helps to tell the story of whatever is in the frame. And, to me it was a nice gallery-inspired detail that took it up a notch beyond just a simple framed piece of art. I choose a simple “Kona” for mine. You can see a few examples here of how folks have really gotten creative in making an heirloom-worthy piece.
Also, on the back of each frame you have the wonderful option to include the “Secret Story Pocket” that allows you to add a story about what is in your frame. Being able to write this first hand will really keep the story alive for generations to come. I used the story card to tell the details of this piece being a birthday gift, the date and that my mom had gifted it to us. My custom framed art with Framebridge will stay alive for generations to come. Imagine down the road one of our future relatives coming upon this little note and it taking an otherwise normal piece of art to a whole new level of meaning.
Overall, I really cannot recommend Framebridge. enough. We just love how our piece turned out and found the perfect place for it in our Keeping Room. I’d love to see the heirlooms you have preserved using Framebridge, be sure to tag us on Instagram @heirloomedcollection to share.
