A weekly round up of some of my favorite things, happenings, trends + more, from heirloomed founder + lifestyle designer, Ashley Schoenith. This week discussing the art of the anti-edit.
Heirloomed Weekly: The Anti-Edit
Isn’t it funny how sometimes a bunch of little things collide all into one week and make a profound statement altogether? A combination of the kindest compliment from our new FedEx driver to binge watching The Home Edit + Dream Home Makeover to a couple key points in a podcast that struck me to a 1,000 new product ideas I have toiling around in my head for next year. Deep in my thoughts I began to dig back to our roots (where I always go) to the very core of why we began in the first place – the heirloom. And suddenly out came this little essay In Defense of all the Things that I’d love to hear your thoughts on.
But, there is good in the world and ALL the fabulous Antique Markets I love are going on right now so (like Roundtop + Marburger Farm, ahhhh) so I’m celebrating by wearing my favorite tee and insta-stalking everyone who is out there sourcing amazing old finds at these markets. Are you there? Love to know! Bucket list of 2021 is Roundtop – who’s coming with me?
Here’s a little round up of all the things from this week!
FOOD
Did you hear that we are looking for YOUR family recipes? Yep, that’s right. I am working on some new designs for next year and looking for some beautiful old splattered family recipe cards featuring a Chicken Noodle Soup or Birthday Cake recipe. I’d love for you to take a minute and sift through your stack and see if you may have anything that fits the bill. Email or DM me a picture and your recipe could be featured on one of our upcoming products!

HOME
This Fall has brought a whole new round of book releases that I’m thrilled about and excited to share. I cherry picked a few of my favorite new releases, from cookbooks to coffee table books that are both beautiful + that I know you’ll get a lot out of too. I add these to my kitchen aimlessly to follow an anti-edit.
TRAVEL
I’m headed off to the beautiful Barnsley Gardens Resort this week for a fun pop up + cooking demo with my friend Amanda from Southern Baked Pie. Couldn’t be more excited to experience this beautiful place and get out into nature for a little inspiration + much-needed recharge. Follow along with all the fun on this adventure over on my Instastories!
VINTAGE
My love affair for all things old continues with our brand new candle series called Vintage Vessels. When I’m out sourcing at antique markets + estate sales I’m always kind of sad to see some of the treasures that are let go, especially ones that you know were part of a set or are missing a piece. Gorgeous old farmhouses sitting abandoned on a property or black and white family photos that ended up astray, I have such a connection to these storied pieces.
Our Vintage Vessels series kicks off with a collection of hand-poured, 100% soy wax candles featuring our Fall scent in these gorgeous vintage sugar dishes. Their cream counterparts may be long-gone but their story lives on now as a treasured candle. Shop this limited edition, small-batch collection over on our site before they’re gone. Each one is unique!
STYLE
As I was packing up my things for Barnsley this weekend, my trusty hats are always a wardrobe staple for me, especially this time of year. So, I thought I’d share a little roundup of some of the best ones I found out there right now so you can snag one of your very own. Love a good hat as an instant statement addition to a simple wardrobe.
