I’m a fan of effortless yet impressive and trust me when I say that if you set a giant, warm chocolate chip cookie on the table topped with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream then you will pretty much turn anyone into a dessert lover.

This dessert recipe was so easy to make, but a great way to put a new spin on a classic recipe. I used my favorite Lodge cast iron skillet, and it did the job perfectly.

This gooey chocolate chip cookie skillet is something sweet the whole family will enjoy.

ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda1
  • /2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (regular + jumbo)

instructions:

How to cook Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, combine butter, brown and granulated sugar. Add egg + vanilla and combine until well mixed.
  3. Stir in flour, baking soda + salt. Fold in1 cup of chocolate chips. Press dough into your cast iron skillet and bake 15- 20 minutes or until the center is just set and golden. Top with ice cream and serve warm.
