A Sweet Girls Bedroom Design with Heirloomed Fabrics

Join in as we help reimagine a little girls bedroom space and breathe new life into a pair of treasured family heirloom stools with our new Heirloomed Collection fabric by-the-yard from our Interiors Collection.

There is something so special about designing spaces that tell a story. This girls’ bedroom project was no exception, and I’m thrilled to share it with you.

Using our new Heirloomed Collection designer fabric by-the-yard in Floral Bouquet in blush, we worked on a heartfelt design project for my friend Vanessa and her daughter Mary Cate.

Vanessa came to me with a vision for Mary Cate’s bedroom that was both beautiful and deeply meaningful. She had a pair of vintage stools that once belonged to her mother, originally part of her bedroom décor back in the 1960s. These stools held sentimental value for Vanessa, and she always dreamed of including them in her own daughter’s room someday. When she shared her story with me, I knew this project was destined to be something truly special.

Bringing Heirlooms to Life with Floral Bouquet Fabric

When Vanessa saw our Floral Bouquet fabric, she immediately knew it was the perfect choice for recovering the stools. I was early on in designing the collection and had shown different colorways of this pattern, but she wanted to match it to a Petal Pink paint color she was using elsewhere in the room. I loved this pale blush color so much that this ended up being the only color we launched this pattern in for our final collection! The delicate floral pattern and soft blush tones were timeless yet fresh, perfectly balancing vintage charm with a modern touch.

The stools themselves were well-loved but in need of a little TLC. Vanessa enlisted a local upholsterer to recover the cushions using the Floral Bouquet fabric. The result? Stunning. The blush florals brought a feminine and playful feel, breathing new life into the vintage pieces while keeping their original charm intact. I love how the mid-century modern design of the legs and frame pair with the sweetness and softness of the floral fabric. Now, these stools have become a focal point in Mary Cate’s room, seamlessly tying together the space’s overall design.

A Dream for the Interiors Collection

This project holds a special place in my heart because it perfectly embodies the mission behind our new Heirloomed Interiors Collection: giving old pieces new life in a meaningful way. When I dreamed of launching this collection, I envisioned families taking heirloom items and reimagining them in fresh, modern ways to fit their homes today. Mary Cate’s bedroom—with its sentimental stools brought to life by Floral Bouquet fabric—is exactly what I had in mind and I am so thankful to have been a teeny part of this design project.

A Timeless Bedroom Design

Mary Cate’s bedroom is a delightful mix of old and new, with every detail thoughtfully chosen to honor her family’s story. In addition to the reimagined stools, Vanessa styled the room with soft whites, light wood accents, and hints of blush throughout, creating a serene and timeless space for her daughter.

The Floral Bouquet fabric wasn’t limited to the stools, either. We designed a matching custom wallpaper for her bathroom, too. It is the perfect way to tie in the pattern visually and is darling among the monogrammed Weezie Towels and shaded lamp sconces. Such a sweet pairing for a little girls room.

Why Heirlooms Matter

Stories like this are why I do what I do. Our homes should be filled with pieces that mean something to us—whether they’re treasures passed down from previous generations or newly made to carry forward new traditions. Fabric is such an incredible medium for this, offering endless possibilities for creativity and preservation.

If you’re looking to breathe new life into your own family heirlooms, I invite you to explore our Heirloomed Collection fabric by-the-yard. Floral Bouquet in blush—or any of our other timeless patterns—might just be the perfect way to add a meaningful touch to your next project.

Let’s Create Something Meaningful Together

This project with Vanessa and Mary Cate reminded me why I’m so passionate about heirloom-inspired design. It’s about more than just beautiful spaces; it’s about connecting to our roots and creating something new to cherish. If you’re inspired by this story, I’d love to hear about your own heirloom projects—or help you dream up one!
