My Barefaced Toning Pads Review

I first came across Barefaced on social media, and like so many things, it wasn’t just the product that pulled me in, it was the founder. Jordan Harper has a way of explaining skincare that feels refreshingly honest, incredibly educational, and genuinely approachable. She’s also funny in that effortless way that makes you want to keep watching and actually learn something while you’re there. If you’ve been searching for reviews Barefaced toning pads, I wanted to share my experience after using them consistently for the past few months.

What I loved most is why she created the brand. As a nurse practitioner, she was constantly seeing women come in overwhelmed, unsure what to use, what order to use it in, and where to even begin. That is exactly how I’ve always felt about skincare. If you tell me what to use and how to use it, I will follow it. But blindly layering products and hoping for the best has never been my thing and not where I was seeing results.

So after following along for a while, I decided to start with what so many people seemed to recommend as the entry point: the toning pads. And I’m so glad I did.

What I Noticed Right Away

From the very beginning, the Barefaced toning pads made an impression. Every night after using them, my skin felt noticeably softer. Not just slightly improved, but that kind of smooth, refined texture I could feel immediately the next morning. Within the first couple of weeks, I started to see a difference in overall texture and tone. My skin looked more even, a little brighter and just overall healthier. It wasn’t aggressive or overwhelming, just consistent, quiet improvement. My skin is pretty sensitive these days and I have never felt tightness or harshness or irritation on my skin.

How I Use Them

My routine is pretty simple. I double cleanse, go straight in with the toning pads, and then follow with my serums and moisturizer before bed. I use them on my face, neck & décolleté and the product on the pad last fully doing the entire area.  My whole face feels cleaner too and I’m always surprised how much additional I get off my skin, even after the double cleanse. They fit seamlessly into that rhythm and I never felt like I was overcomplicating things. If anything, they simplified it and was much more effective. One step that actually does something noticeable, I’ll take it.

I used them consistently for about two to three months before deciding I was ready to explore more from the line.

Why This Became My “Gateway” Product

The toning pads gave me confidence in the brand. They showed me what Barefaced was about in a way that felt both effective and easy to follow. And once I saw those results, I found myself wanting the rest of the system to match, especially because I was still piecemealing it on my own.

I Wish I Had Started with a Starter Kit

If I’m being honest, I wish I had started with one of the Barefaced starter kits. I would have selected the Core Four set for myself.

Barefaced makes it incredibly easy to build a routine and I feel like if I had just started there to begin with then I would be further along in the process. Not to mention it is more cost effective to just bundle it in the kit. And, there’s a free skin analyzer right on their website that gives you personalized recommendations and every product clearly explains how to use it and in what order. That alone removes so much of the guesswork.

If you’re considering the brand, I would strongly recommend starting with a full set rather than piecing it together over time. It’s the easiest way to actually see results and understand how everything works together. But, if you want to go slow and test it out like I did, I do think the toning pads are the way to go. Whatever direction you decide to go, I know it’s loads more cost effective (and in my opinon just as effective) as what my aesthetician  recommended.

What I Added to My Routine

After using the toning pads for a few months, I expanded into a more complete Barefaced routine.

I’ve always been sensitive to vitamin C from other brands, so I chose to skip their Liquid Gold serum and instead went with the Brightening Serum. I was looking for something to boost radiance and give my skin that healthy glow and this felt like the right fit for me personally. But with a name like “liquid gold” and as something described as the “holy grail” I am definitely looking forward to trying the Liquid Gold serum soon.

I also added the Barefaced SPF sunscreen, which has quickly become a daily essential. As I’ve gotten older, sunscreen has become non-negotiable for me, especially for wrinkle prevention. They also have a tinted sunscreen version, which I plan to try this summer for that light, effortless coverage at the lake or beach.

More recently, I started incorporating their Barefaced RetinAL Skin Therapy. I had heard such great things, and even after just one use, I was genuinely impressed. My skin looked smoother and more refined almost immediately and again, it is gentle yet effective. I have not felt the redness & harshness from others I had before. I’m excited to continue using it consistently and continue to see the results.

I also picked up the reusable eye patches, which come in the most thoughtful travel compact. I use eye patches EVERY morning to depuff, especially when traveling, so having a reusable option that’s designed to go with you has been such a nice addition. I apply them over my serums and moisturizer in the morning before sunscreen and makeup while I am getting read and they’ve become part of my everyday rhythm. I’m obsessed with the cute travel compact they come in, too.

Overall Thoughts

What stands out most to me about Barefaced is the balance. The products feel clinical and results-driven, but the system itself is simple and approachable. You don’t feel overwhelmed, you feel guided.

Everything has a purpose, everything has a place, and that clarity makes all the difference. The toning pads were absolutely the right place for me to start, but if you’re considering the brand, I would encourage you to begin with a full routine, a Barefaced starter kit. I think it’s actualy the best way to experience what makes it work so well.

I’ll continue using everything and share more over time, but so far, I’ve been incredibly impressed!
