Crispy Bacon

If you love bacon, I’m sharing two ways to cook this favorite breakfast food . Whether you’re frying your bacon on the stovetop with a cast iron skillet, or if you’d like to know how to cook bacon in the oven on a sheet pan to keep it from splattering grease, we’ve got you covered with these easy tips.

Crispy Bacon

If you’ve ever had breakfast in the South, I’m willing to bet there was bacon on your plate. Bacon is one of those things that is great on it’s own and also great in so, so many recipes because of the flavor it adds. The thing is, depending how you cook it you can get a totally different result.

Everyone has their version of perfect bacon, so today I want to share with you two great ways to cook it.

1. SKILLET BACON.

The most classic way to cook bacon is in a skillet. You will always get a consistently crispy bacon, and plenty of grease to use for your gravy afterwards.

Cooking bacon this way is pretty easy. Just line the bacon in a single layer and cook over medium heat. In a few minutes you will start to hear that glorious crackling and sizzling sound that is the wonder of fatty bacon grease. Flip on the other side for a few minutes, and you’re done. Some folks like it more crispy, others like it less cooked so you’ll cook to desired preference.

When cooking this way it’s always best to wear an apron to avoid getting impossible to remove stains in your t-shirt. And, if you’ve ever wondered why those tiny little holes appear on your shirt right around the mid-section, it’s more than likely because of grease splatter that has burned small holes into the fabric. Problem solved.

2. SHEET PAN BACON.

The second way to cook bacon is my new personal favorite. It is even easier, and causes less of a mess. I just line a sheet pan with tin foil, lay strips of bacon out into a neat little row and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes in the oven. It’s so easy to tend to what else I have cooking by just popping this is the oven and not worrying about grease splattering all over the kitchen. And, it provides a nice overall + even cook on your bacon strip.

No matter how you prefer your bacon, I think we can all agree it is one of the tastiest things you can make. It goes great with breakfast, or for lunch on a delicious BLT sandwich.
