Neutral Nails

I love a neutral approach to nearly everything in life and neutral nails are no exception. Here is a roundup of some of my favorite neutral nail polish colors on the market right now.

Finding a good neutral nail polish seems like an easy task, but as someone who’s been in love with neutral nails my entire life trust me on the nuances this entails. My long-time go-to for natural looking neutral nails is OPI Bubble Bath, which in my opinion just might be the most popular shade they’ve ever made. I’ve been wearing it since high school and although it pulls a little more pink than I prefer, it’s always a good go-to option at the salon that you’ll know they have on hand.

My latest go-to has been Essie Mademoiselle, which is nearly sheer and truly one of the most evenly coated neutrals that doesn’t get too milky or streaky when you try to apply it at home. I usually just do a single coat but will go for two if I bring it to the salon. And, my latest find is the Kur nail concealer, which I found thanks to a “favorite things” party with some of my girlfriends over the holidays last year. My favorite of the Kur polishes is the light pink, but I have the white Kur polish too and love them both for an everyday coating. I always add a quick dry transparent clear topcoat to any nails for a finished look and for protection.

My favorite toe color is OPI You Don’t Know Jacques, which I’m wearing here in the photo. It’s the perfect neutral with some richness and depth, a deep taupe brown that isn’t as harsh as a black but gives you a little more excitement than going black, which can read very goth looking (those of you who remember the ’90s know what I mean here).
