Spring brings so many beautiful things: flowers, sunshine, and warmth. I love hosting a spring brunch party to welcome all the beautiful things with delicious meals and beautiful, spring fashion.
Hosting a Spring Brunch
One of my favorite things about Spring, is Brunch. Be it hosting or attending I love the food, drink and quality time with friends or family. Between wedding and baby showers, Mother’s Day, Ladies Brunch and more, Spring is filled with all of the occasions for hosting a good old-fashioned brunch.
Now you may not know this but back when we first started selling aprons I used to sell them by inviting my friends over to my loft, having them invite other friends, and then having a little trunk show for our Monthly Sunday Brunch. Such a fun tradition and truly what got us off the ground.
Today I wanted to share some of my favorite tips, tricks + traditions for a hosting an easy and beautiful brunch. Hosting brunch can seem overwhelming, but with a few simple recipes and decorating tips (and cocktails of course!) you can feel like a pro on your first try.
Be the Hostess with Mostess
I always love to have a cute apron on when hosting. It helps to pick a signature apron that you wear only while hosting. It will keep your clothes protected, and also remind you to stay is hostess mode when all of you guests arrive. I love to go for a fancier apron than I may wear just everyday that has a little extra detail. The Oatmeal Linen Halter or the Frosty Tin Marshmallows apron from our collection is a great choice.
SETTING YOUR BRUNCH TABLE
Another tip I have is to set your table with beautiful + unique tabletop linens. Having nice linens will add so much to your able and make all of the special dishes you made come to life. In essence it is truly the base layer for success. For brunch I like to use a table runner versus placemats since we are more in graze, social mode. To me, it makes the table more inviting, especially with a larger crowd and gives you the flexibility you need to host.
Brunch is such a wonderful way to meet new ladies, taste new recipes and entertain. When hosting a Ladies Brunch I have a special tradition I love to follow. I have each lady bring their favorite brunch recipe. It helps everyone feel involved in the experience and feels a part of the brunch by bringing their own dish to share, a sort of elevated pot luck if you will.
My only request is that each person share their special recipe with us – folks always request it anyways and it is such a fun follow up to a great event. The day after, I always send a “thanks for coming” email and share the collection of new recipes with the group to try their own hand and making some of the new delights – it also helps each of the women in attendance connect with one another. A win / win.
BRUNCH RECIPES
One of my favorite recipes to share is my aunts recipe for Brie and Sausage Casserole. It is always a hit and is just the perfect dish for brunch.
