This classic glaze icing recipe is a staple in our home and a simple one you should know how to make along with a handful of other frostings. This powder sugar filled frosting alternative is perfect for cinnamon rolls, pound cake, sugar cookies and more!
You can never go wrong with a good glaze. Be it on doughnuts or a cake, a simple glaze icing adds just the right amount of sweetness to make anyone a “dessert person.” I love when it’s liquid-like but also when it has hardened to a thin, crispy shell to coat.
Glaze icing is honestly the easiest dessert topping to make. It only calls for a few ingredients and just takes a few stirs to get it perfectly. I always remember my mom making this in the mornings to ice her homemade cinnamon rolls, my favorite!
I recently made this glaze to top a Sour Cream Pound Cake I was making ( a must try!). It added to perfect amount of sweetness and moisture to my pound cake. I’d love to know your favorite recipes to use a glaze icing for. Let me know in the comments below.
